AFL Grand Final
Nu i helgen är det final i AFL (Australiensiska fotbolls ligan). Det är en stor grej här i Melbourne, vilket inte är så konstigt med tanke på att 9 av de 17 lagen kommer från Melbourne området. I år är finalen mellan Collingwood Magpies (skator) och Geelong Cats, båda är mer eller mindre från Melbourne (Geelong ligger lite i utkanten).
AFL är ju lite som religion här och man ser nu bla i affärer och i gymmet ballonger och flaggor från båda lagen och på lördag kommer nog hela stan att kolla på matchen. Meatloaf har även flygit hit för att uppträda på matchen, förra året va det tydligen Lionel Ritchie.
Jag kan tänka mig att det här är Melbourne (och kanske Australiens) Superbowl.
Favoriterna är Geelong men Collingwood toppar ligan så ja det är väl 50/50. Jag hejar inte på nåt, har varken varit i Collingwood eller Geelong, men Kate har meddelat oss att vi ska heja på Collingwood, men det tar emot lite, deras fans (inte Kate såklart) har ett rykte av att vara bråkstakar.
England spelar mot Skottland i rugby VM på lördag så jag tror att vi kommer att kolla på den matchen istället :)
This weekend it’s the AFL final (Australian Football League). It’s a big deal here in Melbourne, which is not that surprising considering that 9 of the 17 teams are from the Melbourne area. This year's final is between Collingwood and Geelong, both are more or less from Melbourne (Geelong is a bit on the outskirts).

I think Geelong are the favourites but I think Collingwood topped the league so I guess it’s like 50/50 really. I don’t have a favourite team but Kate was nice enough to let us know that we should support Collingwood.
England is playing Scotland in the rugby World Cup on Saturday so I guess Andrew would want to watch that game as well.
