ANZAC Day
Igår va det ANZAC Day (Australia and New Zealand Army Corps), då hedrar dom de som kämpade och dog i första och andra världskriget och Vietnamkriget. Nu hedrar man även de som fortfarande krigar i Irak och Afganistan.
Det var en parad genom stan som slutade vid the Shrine och vi gick dit och tittade. Vi missade tyvärr säckpiporna men vi fick höra nationalsångerna och lite annat.
Sen tog vi en promenad genom botaniska trädgården ner till floden Yarra.
Vädret va jättebra, 24 grader varmt, blå himmel och strålande sol. Underbart!
På kvällen gick vi och kollade på rugby, Melbourne Storm mot New Zealand Warriors, gissa vilka vi hejade på....jepp NZ och gissa vad, vi vann!!! Det var väldigt härlig stämning och det var rätt många kiwis och maorier omkring oss.
Idag är det oxå underbart väder så vi ska till parken, ha lite picknick, kasta lite frisbee och bara njuta. Imorrn har vi mycket att göra och vi flyttar! Ska bli så skönt att äntligen kunna packa upp våra saker och ska bli skönt att få laga mat!!
Yesterday it was ANZAC Day (Australia and New Zealand Army Corps), that's when you honour those who fought in the first and second world war and the Vietnam war and I assume they also think of those still fighting in Iraq and Afganistan.
We went to the Shrine and listened to some speaches and the national anthems. Then we took a walk through the Botanical Garden down to the river Yarra and walked into town. The weather was amazing, 24 degrees, perfectly blue sky and bright sunshine. Really nice!
In the evening we went to my first rugby league game, it was Melbourne Storm vs New Zealand Warriors and we obviously cheered for the Warriors and guess who won.....yep, the Warriors :)
There were quite a few kiwis and maories where we were sitting and the atmosphere was great!
Another beautiful day today, so we're gonna go off to the park. We have a busy day tomorrow with the move and stuff so just gonna enjoy today :)
